The first computer was created by a man named Konrad Zuse. Zuse built the first computer, Z1, in the living room of his parents. He began work on the computer in 1936 and did not finish his work until two years later (1938). When he had finished the incredible machine he had successfully produced the first binary computer. The difference between this computer and the calculators that came before was the system in which they worked. The original calculators required the operator to input all of the operations that occur during the solving process. Z1 on the other hand only required the operator to input the numbers and the computer was programmed to solve the mathematical equation. Although this was only a calculator, the programming system, called Binary, has been used to program computers ever since.
